ESPERANTO! September 9th

6PM Millside Park, Easthampton

Get ready for a high-energy evening that unites musicians from four continents in a hip-shaking blend of Afrobeat rhythms, psychedelic funk, hip-hop, and sensational Afro-Cuban Salsa. It’s a musical journey that traces the cross-cultural roots of contemporary world music – from Somalia to Chile, Tanzania to Puerto Rico, and Burundi to Brooklyn – reflected through the experiences of musicians who are both artists and immigrants.

“Esperanto” is a constructed language spoken around the globe, designed to allow people who speak different native languages to communicate, while at the same time retaining their own languages and cultural identities. Similarly, music is recognized as a universal form of communication which is constantly evolving, unhindered by language and geography.
